"I Polis Ealo" (Greek: Η Πόλις Εάλω, translated as "The City Has Fallen") is the legendary debut full-length album by Terror X Crew (TXC), released on March 14, 1997, under FM Records. It is widely considered one of the most important, influential, and groundbreaking albums in the history of Greek hip-hop, effectively pioneering and defining the hardcore rap scene in the country.
Following their raw self-titled EP in 1995, the trio consisting of MCs Artemis and Efthimis, alongside producer/turntablist DJ Alx, delivered a masterpiece of heavy sonic production and intense lyricism.
The title is taken from the historical phrase marking the fall of Constantinople, used here as a dark allegory for the decay, alienation, and corruption of modern Athens and contemporary society. Notably, DJ Alx, who produced this album, is the older brother of Kanon's producer (Alx mixed/mastered Bios kai Aliteia), highlighting a direct lineage in the gritty Athens hardcore sound.
