Gehenna - Murder Vinyl

Released in 2000, Murder marked the most radical stylistic shift in Gehenna's career. Leaving behind much of the symphonic black metal atmosphere that defined their earlier works, the Norwegian band embraced a far more aggressive and stripped-down sound rooted in death metal, with traces of blackened extremity still lurking beneath the surface.

The album is built on sharp, groove-laden riffs, relentless drumming, and venomous vocal performances. Rather than relying on keyboards and grandiose arrangements, Murder focuses on raw intensity and direct songwriting, creating a cold and oppressive atmosphere through sheer force. Tracks such as "Perfect Hate," "The Crucified One," and the title track showcase a band determined to reinvent itself without sacrificing its dark identity.
