Acherontas – Faustian Ethos CD

Faustian Ethos is one of Acherontas’ most compelling explorations of ritualistic and atmospheric black metal. The album combines aggressive, often hypnotic guitar work with dark melodies, ceremonial passages and an occult atmosphere that gives the music a distinctly immersive character. There is a strong sense of movement throughout the record, shifting between furious black-metal attacks, haunting atmospheric sections and ritualistic interludes without losing its cohesion. The production allows the guitars and vocals to retain their raw edge while giving the more atmospheric elements enough space to breathe.

Faustian Ethos demonstrates why Acherontas have become such an important name in the Greek occult black-metal scene. It is an album less concerned with straightforward brutality than with creating a dark, mystical and psychologically absorbing experience.
