FireHouse is the explosive debut that introduced FireHouse as one of the more melodic and polished bands of the late-'80s/early-'90s hard-rock scene. Built around powerful guitar riffs, soaring vocals, huge choruses and slick production, the album sits comfortably between melodic hard rock, glam metal and AOR without becoming overly lightweight.

The combination of C.J. Snare’s high, distinctive vocals and Bill Leverty’s guitar work gives the record much of its identity. Songs such as “Don’t Treat Me Bad,” “Love of a Lifetime” and “Shake & Tumble” demonstrate the band’s ability to move from energetic rockers to emotional power ballads while maintaining a strong melodic focus.

Despite arriving just before grunge dramatically changed the American rock landscape, FireHouse proved that there was still an audience for well-crafted, hook-heavy hard rock. It remains a classic melodic metal/hard-rock debut, capturing FireHouse at their hungriest and most commercially accessible.
