Swedish death metal trio Eye Of Purgatory make an impressive return with "Darkborne" - a dark yet powerful new chapter. The band is backed by Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Ribspreader), Taylor Nordberg (The Absence, Venom Inc.) and Jeramie Kling (Venom Inc., Inhuman Condition). Together they create a work that breathes the spirit of classic Swedish death metal: raw, atmospheric and at the same time full of melodic depth and emotion.

The impressive artwork is once again by Dan Goldsworthy (Accept, Alestorm, Cradle of Filth) and perfectly captures the mixture of melancholy and menace that characterizes Darkborne. This is not about nostalgia, but about the consistent further development of a sound that places just as much importance on emotion and atmosphere as on pure heaviness.
