Stay on These Roads is the third studio album by the Norwegian synth-pop/pop-rock band a-ha, released in May 1988 by Warner Bros. Records. The album was a massive commercial success, particularly across Europe and Latin America, earning Platinum status in multiple countries including France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
The album builds upon a-ha's signature sound, blending Synth-pop with more mature Pop-rock elements, heavier guitar work, and lush orchestral arrangements. It was primarily produced by Alan Tarney, who had previously steered their massive breakthrough hits "Take on Me" and "The Sun Always Shines on T.V." Lead singer Morten Harket’s soaring vocals once again take center stage, showcasing his incredible multi-octave range and falsetto.
