The release marks a notable milestone for the band as it is their premier work on the maxi 12” format for Sub Pop. It is also the first official studio recording to feature only the core founding duo of Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson handling heavily saturated electric guitars and synthesis without external collaborators. The material was recorded by Brad Wood at Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville and Sea Grass in Los Angeles. The record contains three linear, punishing, and classic guitar drone tracks.
