And the Firmament Will Burn to Quench the Pain of This Earth is the second full-length album by the atmospheric black metal project Downfall of Nur. It marks the return of the solo project by Italian-born musician Antonio Sanna after an eleven-year hiatus following his acclaimed 2015 debut, Umbras de Barbagia.

The album reflects on the ancestral memory, history, and mythology of Sardinia. Its concept explores the feminine through the prehistoric Mother Goddess archetype and human mothers grieving losses from ancestral conflicts. Musically, it combines aggressive atmospheric black metal with cinematic compositions, ritualistic segments, and ambient soundscapes.
