Blindead 23 – Deuterium Vinyl
Blindead 23, formerly known as Blindead, is the new Polish avant-metal powerhouse led by former Behemoth guitarist Mateusz "Havoc" Smierzchalski, with a top-notch line-up that also includes Roger Öjersson (ex-Katatonia) and Pawel "Pavulon" Jaroszewicz (Vltimas, ex-Vader, ex-Decapitated). This new incarnation of the band combines the atmosphere of the early Blindead recordings - sludge & post-metal with heavy riffs and hypnotizing electronics - into a more developed and refined new form, while continuing to pay tribute to the material of the past in their captivating live performances. Having recently caught the attention of a wide international audience with the announcement of their new deal with Peaceville, the wait for Blindead 23's first studio album has been as grueling for fans as it has been for the band themselves. Recorded in 2023 and carefully honed and refined in the years that followed, "Deuterium" immediately captivates with its stratospheric soundscapes over a playing time of almost an hour of meticulously crafted, multi-layered and inspired metal.
The album itself is described as a conceptual journey that manifests as an uplifting, if often somber, expression and reflection of the soul. Continuing the momentum sparked by the band's track "Disposed", the odyssey called "Deuterium" is a new powerhouse of unique, experimental and progressive metal.
"Deuterium" was recorded and produced by David Castillo (Opeth, Carcass, Katatonia, Leprous) at Studio Gröndahl in Stockholm in spring 2023, while mixing and mastering was handled by Kuba Mankowski, a longtime friend of the band.
This edition will be released as a transparent red double gatefold vinyl, including an engraving on side D.
